Mr. M.S.Anand, A Bachelor in Fine arts At Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts (CAVA), Mysore. He did his diploma in Tanjore style of paintings at chettinadu and Mysore traditional paintings at Chennai ashram. He has bagged seven dasara awards and many more state awards for his art work. According to Anand, Mysore traditional paintings are created according to the rules and customs followed since decades. Anand's impeccable skills which include intricate detailing of the paintings from the eyelashes to smiling graceful faces of the deity enchant the viewer.
According to anand "Painting is not just passion for me, but a medium to reach perfection and I enjoy the spiritual realm. "Learning has no culmination and aiming towards perfection and uniqueness is his motto. M.S .Ananad is a dexterous artist known for his unique Mysore and Tanjore traditional paintings. Though he is less popular in Mysore, his fame as traditional painter has surprisingly reached nooks and corners of the world, which have come to learn painting from him. Every year about 70 to 100 students learn painting from him. Students from USA, England, Yugoslavia, Scotland, Australia, japan, Thailand and others are being imparted the minute etchings of Mysore and Tanjore paintings. He has sold approximately 1200 paintings. Out of which 1100 have been purchased by foreigners. A connoisseur of this art from Thailand bought a painting of Buddha meditating under the tree. Anand says in order to paint the pleasant face of Buddha; one has to meditate as Buddha did. the face has been carved in the same manner. He gives life to his paintings, whether it is Ganesha or radha Krishna, or Mummadi Krishna raja Wadiyar.
